2018 Isuzu NRR
WHAT IS THE ISUZU NRR?
An Isuzu NRR is an LCF, which stands for Low Cab Forward truck. The LCF design has a number of advantages over some other truck formats, such as chassis cabs, which are visibility, available length and functionality. Unlike some trucks today, LCFs like the Isuzu NRR are almost without exception used for commercial purposes.
Compared to other types of commercial, an Isuzu NRR offers the driver and passenger outstanding visibility, especially in crowded urban areas, because the view forward isn't obscured by a hood since the NRR has a flat front. More of the vehicle's overall length can therefore be used for cargo, and the interior design maximizes the use of space to benefit drivers.
WHY BUY THE NRR?
If you run a business that needs a flexible, capable, driver-friendly truck that can be as adaptable and specialized as you need, that's why you would buy an NRR. The NRR offers some of the highest GVWRs in the current Isuzu N-Series, and come equipped with powerful and efficient diesel engines.
Whether your commercial application demands a traditional box, a refrigerated box, a flatbed, or something altogether more specialized. No other type of commercial truck offers as much versatility and flexibility as an Isuzu LCF. But as well as all that, an Isuzu NRR is also an affordable way of your business benefiting from all that too.
HOW CAN THE ISUZU NRR BE UPFITTED?
Within the legal confines of weight and size applicable to the NRR you've chosen, the only real restriction to how it can be upfitted is your imagination. They don't get upfitted at the factory, of course, but by specialists that cater to your specific needs.
Popular upfitting applications for an NRR are as a simple flatbed for transporting cars, trucks, construction site machinery, or anything else, or boxes for carrying ambient, refrigerated, or frozen cargo or to be fitted out as a mobile workshop or store. If it's within the weight and size limits of the truck itself, the sky really is the limit with how you customize your truck.
IS THE ISUZU NRR GAS OR DIESEL?
As one of the real workhorses of the Isuzu N-Series family, the NRR is only available with diesel powertrains. But when you consider how much one of these is designed to carry on its chassis, compared to smaller Isuzu LCF trucks, a diesel is really the only engine that makes sense.
You can have a regular cab NRR or a Crew Cab NRR, but both versions come with a 5.2-liter turbocharged and intercooled diesel that produces 215 horsepower and a hardworking 452 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,850 rpm. The body/payload allowance for the standard NRR is 12-294-12,875 pounds, while the Crew Cab is rated between 12,181 and 12,250 pounds. For both trucks, the GVWR is 19,500 pounds and the GCWR is 25,500 pounds.
