Business-Friendly Cargo Space: Isuzu Box Trucks
If you’ve got larger or longer cargo items to haul, Isuzu is on your side. Box trucks also offer greater climate control for companies that require refrigeration components.
In a Chevy cut van, you can access the cargo hold from the cabin, via an optional sliding door between the driver and passenger seats. This isn’t usually possible in a box truck. Some courier drivers or service crews may find this extra access convenient, because you can simply reach into the cargo hold and grab a smaller item. However, Chevy cut vans aren’t as sizeable as Isuzu box trucks, so they’re not the right choice for hauling big items.
Utility: Isuzu Box Trucks
In one of Isuzu’s box trucks, you can haul much heavier loads than in a Chevy cut van. With gross vehicle weight ratings between 12,000 and 25,950 pounds, there’s an Isuzu truck for every kind of commercial hauling need. Chevy cut vans also haul impressive loads, with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 14,200 pounds. Although they’re not quite as heavy-duty as box trucks, cut vans offer extra utility with their cab-to-cargo access. Instead of getting out of the cab and opening a rear or side door, you can reach back and grab what you need.
Power & Performance: Chevy Cut Van
With a Chevy cut van, you get a lot more powertrain versatility. You can choose between gas or diesel powertrains, the latter of which boost torque output for enhanced pulling performance. You can also outfit your engine for alternative fuel use, including compressed natural gas, which can help your company leave a reduced impact on the environment.
Box trucks tend to offer diesel engines, which produce ample torque for hauling heavy loads across time. Of course, if you go with an Isuzu NPR, you can choose the available gasoline-powered engine. However, this is the only gas-powered forward-cab truck out there.
Dependability: Isuzu Box Trucks
If you’re in it for the long haul, you’ll be happy to know that Isuzu box trucks are, too. For example, 90 percent of Isuzu’s NPR cab-forward models are expected to reach 375,000 miles before requiring overhaul.
By way of comparison, both gasoline and diesel Chevy cut vans are rated for about 200,000 or fewer miles. That’s still a pretty long life – just not as long as the Isuzu box truck.
